Nokia N76 Nokia N76 : Flat, With Large Flap Behind Much

The phone I have, unfortunately, I can not get with my mobile operator. But the Internet, there was a shop where you buy the right of every phone extension to his contract or could. The mobile phone has a street price of about € 460 (RRP: 520Euro). In the shop, I got the phone with my contract extension for 167 €. This was still very acceptable price, without adjournment, it is just too expensive.

So now to my personal experiences :
If you read through the specifications, then you are already surprised at how much technology and gadgets in so fit a small mobile phone. But how all this works in practice. And what are the shortcomings of this phone. I will try to describe the typical functions and if there were problems, I will try to detect them.

Design and processing

For design, there is not much to say. It resembles something the RAZR phone from Motorola. It is flat, handy and very well made. The door closes perfectly to the cabinet and has nothing cheap or rickety. A small flaw is perhaps that one can not easily open the phone with one hand, there it is rather cumbersome, but will collapse as you would for a clamshell phone is used. On top of the cover is hiding behind a small mirror, the front display. The drawback here is the quite quickly visible fingerprints on the front, which make the phone look smeared.

Note: very good

Keyboard

Here again we see the design and the technology that we already know in Motorola classics and the new U-series from Samsung. The buttons are all very clear and are not. The pressure point is for someone who has never worked with such mobile phones, rather unusual, but certainly learned. The buttons are quite large, but to go really safe, you should try to take the keys still in the middle, because at the point where the pressure is felt by. I have about five days needed me to get used to the new keys.
Note: good

Display

When I got about 2 years ago my Sony Ericsson W800i, I thought that was the sharpest display I’ve seen in a mobile phone. But this display is anything seen before in the shade. With 17 million colors and 2.4 “it’s really fantastic. The lighting is terrific and very readable. The menus can also operate on very bright days outside. The same applies to the external display. On the very small space, there are clearly all the information you need (calls, SMS, radio, title information, track list, time, viewfinder of the camera, date, etc.)

Note: very good

Multimedia

For multimedia facilities include primary mp3 player, radio, camera and video player (Real Player and Flash Player). Music and Radio can be easy with the three front buttons to operate the valve. With the side contained volume keys can be operated even more menus. The song or listen to the radio with earphones plugged in very clear. The onboard speakers teach the current instruments and the bass sounds over very well. Here Nokia has done a very good job. The other features, such as contact management, or notes, calendar, alarm clock, reminders, can be easy to operate, or sync via PC Suite on the computer (a precondition is MS Outlook or Lotus Suite on the PC). The Bluetooth is easy to use and the data transfer is very quick. Another advantage is the record or remove files from the phone or Memory Stick. The mobile phone is simply connected via the supplied cable to a USB port and the phone already works as an external hard drive or storage device. Drag and drop songs and pictures can now be easily copied to the phone. After copying one button goes to the phone and all new data will be synchronized in the cell phone. Each title is designed to work as a ringtone for calls, SMS, alarm clock, or select.
Now for the camera. I am not a big fan of phone-cam `s. You simply can not approach the quality of real cameras, but for short range shots that 2-megapixel camera is sufficient. If you want to see even a few original images of the phone, then you can find in Google under “Nokia N76 Review View” a few pictures.
The included game called Snake as a surprise. It is intuitive and looks in 3D and color did not look so bad.
Otherwise, I am not yet widely penetrated the depths of the multimedia programs, but what I know so far is very good and for me more than enough.

Note: very good

Delivery

The delivery really are no big surprises. In the relatively drab packaging are found not only the mobile phone USB data cables are a stereo headset, a charger, a 256MB MircoSD memory stick and a four manuals (two each in German and in English, says being in a short, the menu items and a detailed manual).
Personally, I do not really miss anything in the package. The criticisms relate to the small memory stick (it should still be able to 1024MB) and the relatively inconvenient to load-bearing headset. A little tip for those who like to pay their own headphones to enjoy music, but not want to do without a headset. The headset can grow from the N95. Here you have the opportunity to affix to the microphone his own headphones, since there is also a 3.5mm jack. I even bought me a 2GB MicroSD flash drive and then I was supplied with more than satisfied.

Note: good

Voice

Well, Nokia has since not really covered itself with glory. The voice quality is still very poor. It is here, whether you are on the phone with or without a headset. It sounds very muffled and very quiet. Since this has already been shown several tests (see Xonio.com) there is a general small disturbance.

Note: sufficient

Battery life

According to the website of Nokia mobile phones for a period of up to 200Std. Well, this is still considered relatively fairly, it should be clear. I use my cell phone every day as MP3 or radio when I drive to work (a day about 3h). Well between you and any phone calls and write sms ne, so what normally generated by the mobile phone use Sun The disillusionment was the battery does not hold out longer than three days. As bad as I find it not even close to the phone every two to three days to the grid. But I was with my W800i just another usual (for the same use, it was up to 8 days). Right here must be the flat phone that is packed with features pay tribute. The small 700mAh battery lasts just not as long. As a little tip here noticed that you can easily change down the brightness of the large displays, which also saves battery life.

Note: Satisfactory

Conclusion

The phone shows off the only way of features, all of which are thought to use and intuitive. The demands of this compact multimedia smartphone will easily meet. The hardware does, the software shows no quirks or crashes. Other hand, the phone also has its drawbacks. Whom the relatively short battery life does not bother with or has a limited satisfactory voice quality no big problems, dam I can put this phone only recommend highly. It is an elegant hip flask, which leaves open for functions to be desired.

Pro : Slim, elegant, full of features, music player, radio, camera, Symbian S60 Software
Cons : voice of the caller, dirt, rel. weak battery life
