Today on my report on a fairly trendy clamshell phone from Nokia, â € ¨ the Nokia 6600 fold. The mobile phone has been about 4 months on the market, and it has irritated me for some time to use it a little longer and test. In itself is my “mobile phone tribe” the iPhone 3G. I’m quite happy with it, but always attract me to new phones.
In particular, this, as is quite small and chic, and just once is a clamshell phone again. The cell phone is in the colors purple / shiny black / shiny.
I opted for the black as well but rather what the purple is for women.
After the arrival of the package by DHL (which seemed once again to take forever), I of course immediately shredded the box to get at the inside-the black Nokia – cardboard.

It’s small, black and sexy. The 6600 is smooth like a flat pebble in the hand and feels very good. However, I can continue to use my cell phone with this iPhone-polishing cloth.
The folding mechanism makes a very strong impression, as if by magic on the phone vibrates. – Very nice
The keyboard makes a very streamlined look. The keys can be operated safely and with a noticeable pressure point.
The internal display is small with a diagonal measurement of about 5 cm right, but offers a high resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and is crisp sharp.
Overall, the phone is very solid and made of decent materials, only a fall on gravel or so, I would not but then the phone trust-the beautiful surface would then suffer too much.

a 512 Mb memory card (fairly limited, but cheap to replace it with a larger)

Telephony / Organizer :
For telephony, there is very little to say. The software (Serie40) reacts very quickly and is easy to use. In the address book can integrate all kinds of information and of course also synchronize with your PC. The same applies to the scheduler. Other standard tools and games and are integrated. During a telephone conversation falls on the good natural voice. The Maxiallautstärke is sufficient. The reception is neither particularly good nor particularly bad.
The standby time is about 3 days, the talk at about 3 hours.
Multimedia :
Particularly noteworthy here is the music player. With its ease of use and excellent sound effortless, he replaced an external MP3 player. Something is just under 8 mb of internal memory but the phone measure. That would be enough time for just two mp3. Even the 512 MB memory card is no significant improvement. However, since an 8 GB memory card available today for about 25 eur, there should be no problem to extend the 6600 order.
The 2 megapixel camera is not as good and unfortunately only makes blurry photos.
Data Transfer :
Now we come to the dark side of 6600 :
UMTS and HSDPA are unfortunately not included. Thus, only very slow GPRS is used for Internet access. Very sad.
Otherwise, a standard Bluetooth connection is offered.
Conclusion :
The 6600 fold from Nokia is a chic little phone for the price of 180 Eur Noteworthy is the very good music player and the good telephony functions. For the mobile Internet, the phone is not recommended, unfortunately.
