My trip from the nokia free zone with a trip to the LG KS 20 only lasted a few weeks. The initial euphoria was very short. A key reason for the KS 20 was the big screen and wireless capability. Since the LG was not good for me was the 6300 just right. Finally it is available, and was immediately ordered.
In the phone with the addition of i is a typical NOKIA better equipped model than the first version of 6300 which is long in the trade. At the end of a product life cycle, its mainstream devices like Nokia missed one extra gimmicks and throws it back into the market.

Komaktes lightweight body, easy operation and a clear menu make the 6300i, as was the 6300, good for a mobile phone. You find your way around easily and quickly. Good call quality, decent battery life and sleek design complete the picture. While the 6300 is now available in silver, white, red, pink and black is that in 6300 only one shade of gray (similar to DB-iron mica) is available.
This is not bad because it looks very classy. All buttons are easy to use great and good. The 2 MP camera is absolutely sufficient for a cell phone. There is no flash it as well as UMTS it in your i-version.
The added value of the i-version of the 6300 – Wi-Fi! -
Thanks to Wi-Fi support so that we can liaise with the local router and move data. However, nowhere is an indication of the WLAN made speed. My router (Fritz! Box 7270) confirmed a 54 Mbit connection. The available bandwidth is neat. The compound is stable, the wireless adapter in the LG KS20 but far from perfect. Sometimes it is difficult to connect to the router to be incorporated.
First he is found and now lost again. This happens even if you stand in front of the router. Is a compound of the call to web pages many times faster than with the LG. Those who think that the small 2 inch Nokia Display a disadvantage compared with the large 2.8 inch TFT LG is on the wrong track. The fastest web browser Opera Mini 4.0 shows the site, greatly reduced, to complete.
A small window to move the navigation buttons in the enriches the side, wants to read the one, after confirming the text area enlarged. The text is perfectly formatted, that you can view the contents well. Both displays have 320 x 240 pixels, the same resolution. Because the Nokia Display has but 2 cm less diagonal, the text represented a much greater clarity.
Due to the limited encryption logic of the browser you should not make banking with them. Who wants to make even with his cell phone transfers? The good performance is mainly surf the browser. The normal default browser is also available, but good for as little as Internet Explorer, the LG KS 20.Richtig good: Before accessing the Internet, the 6300 asks. While the LG KS-20 had been selected at times also expensive to own mobile Internet (without automatic dismissal when not in use), this gives protection against high online costs times when no WiFi is available.
Really interesting, however, is another way of wireless networking. Internet telephony (VOIP). To establish one is led to a Nokia site. There, you can configure VOIP accounts of Freenet.de, Sipgate and Gizmo. A manual configuration with provider data, such as 1 & 1 or Carpo is currently not possible. According to Nokia’s statement could be on condition that it offers, can send text messages to access data from the VOIP provider. Carpo offers on its website currently only the Nokia N-series and 9300 to, at 1 & 1 I have not found it.
Since the 6300 is available on Nokia’s website has only recently re-listed and the information and support offerings are still poor is expected that will do about anything else. The telephony over the Internet works perfectly.
If desired, outgoing calls are made primarily through the Internet. A more extensive set of electoral rules (eg, via mobile SIM card, the fixed network via VOIP) is not possible.
Besides the possibility of surfing via WLAN or GPRS / EDGE can receive with the phone and e-mails and send. The display of emails is fine. I am also excited about what we can on such a small screen so everything’s good to read.
Battery life
As the provision and maintenance of the wireless connection a bit more power than the normal GSM mode is required (according to Nokia standby only 4.5 days for active WLAN), a desk stand is included. Simply put purely phone and it is loaded. I do not want to miss.
The precious piece is covered with a silver metal plate. Looks classy. Since you can use the phone good for spontaneous surfing (at times to look just like the eBay auctions are) and thus the backlight of the display is to stand for periodic loads.
Navigation using Nokia Maps
A 512 MB micro-SD memory card is there and includes Nokia Maps. If an external USB-GPS receiver can use the phone for navigation. The GPS navigation and voice guidance, however, requires that you buy a Nokia navigation license. These are available with maturities from one week to one year (annual license costs like 60 EUR). The route planning functions, however, without a license and is thus kostenlos.Ein USB cable and a CD with the Nokia Suite are unfortunately not there. The 6300, however, with a standard mini-USB cables are connected and the Nokia Suite is available as a download on the Nokia website.
Conclusion
The 6300 is, as has been the standard 6300, to an ordinary phone. The Wi-Fi and VoIP functionality are of absolute value. The WLAN technology is quickly finding their way into more and more cell phones. The casing is sent and the phone does this not as cheap as the silver 6300th The VOIP functionality will catch on with mobile phones. So you can make cheap international calls home. I can recommend it without reservation.
Pros : Wi-Fi and VOIP, desktop charger
Cons : Can only three VOIP providers, wireless connection Part. unstable
