With Nokia I was always very happy, so I always changed the Finnish Nokia phones against other devices. Unfortunately, my old Nokia fell down the stairs to the victims, so I needed a new one. I could advise me and I decided then to the Nokia 6234, which I use now, after all, since 2 ½ years.

Appearance
The cell phone I liked from the beginning. It looked very classy and elegant. The top is finished in matt silver. The display takes up about 50 percent of the total area. Among them is four separate control buttons for the phone call and menu control. In the middle of a field located at 5 other buttons, four user-definable cursor keys and a confirmation button in the middle. Among them is still the key field with the 12 number keys. At the bottom yet, the Nokia-branded, unfortunately, something that disturbs, but not changeable. The bottom of the phone is made of soft plastic. It almost feels like hard rubber. The surface is thus very slippery and firm to the touch. The mobile phone is thus very good in the hand.
The Menu
The menu has changed compared to older models of Nokia something that is still relatively simple. The menu is clearly laid out. Every single menu can be accessed via the cursor keys. They are shown in the table by small, animated icons. There are a lot of sub-menus, but all logical and thereby achieve very quick. As with many older Nokia models, the Nokia 6234 is also the possibility of shortcuts on the keypad, ie that you just type in a certain sequence in order to get to certain menus. This is of course a fine thing, you need to remember is the necessary key combination for specific sub menu and you quickly through menus.
A new feature is Active Desktop. With this feature, you have the most important applications, such as calendar, phone book and the Media Player directly at hand. It enabled him easily with a push of a button and has different applications simply at a glance. Controlled the whole thing is simply using the cursor keys. Allows us to reach faster the desired applications.
The display
The display is about 4 by 3 inches tall and has a resolution von320 x 240 pixels. With up to 262,144 displayable colors makes the display all the graphics very good and clear dar. Whether games, videos and photos, everything is displayed neatly and accurately. Straight from the presentation of videos, I was pleasantly surprised. It is very fluid, fast movement is also quite good dar. My old phone had just been to big problems.
The Sound
Here, one must of course distinguish between two things. First, the sound quality on the phone and second, the sound quality of the Media Player. The latter I explain later. There are two ways of calling. Once normal by the internal microphone and built-in the other, on the speakerphone. The quality of the internal micro-and small speakers is very good. You hear me perfectly, I hear my friend perfectly. Since there is no reason to complain. The speakerphone, however, does not satisfy me really. Even at full volume level you can hear the other person is not really good. Understand you are doing me very well, I’ve been told, but that brings with it nothing, my friend if I do not really understand.
The camera
Well on the quality of phone cameras you really need not argue long. The Nokia 6234 has a 2-megapixel camera. The quality of the images is quite modest. For small snapshots, the camera is quite suitable, but no more. For real photos I take it you prefer my real camera.
The Media Player
For Media Player includes several features. The camera can also be controlled by the media player. Then you can still watch videos, listen to MP3s, making voice recordings and radio.
The MP3s will play well. The sound is fine, but unfortunately both from speakers and headset on something quietly. If it is quiet in the room, disturbing the whole thing, but with loud background noise, you can forget it. Sometimes it happens that the unit will listen to MP3s just crashes. Why is that, unfortunately I do not know. The phone starts on its own again and goes back to its original state, so the state as if it just turned on.
The radio works pretty well. To do this, you plug the headset to the phone in there because the antenna is integrated. The channel scan may either operate automatically or manually. The number of available channels is rather modest, but the quality of 1a, no noise. Overall it is a nice feature that I use only very rarely.
The recorder is similar to dictation. It starts recording and the device records everything, what you’re gonna hear it. The quality of the images is quite acceptable, but do I also use this feature only very rarely.
Overall, the cell phone a whole lot can be quite sufficient for my needs.
The battery
The battery is a Nokia BP-6M at 3.7 volts. Initially this worked perfectly well, was very long, at first usually over a week without a new store. This was of course worse with time. Unlike my old phone but it was the Nokia 6234 using the battery wear more slowly. The battery lasts about 3 days now, until he wants juice. That is perfectly acceptable, that the piece I’ve loaded it very often. We see a definite improvement over the old Nokia batteries. I am in the last few weeks, however, noticed a problem. Apparently it creates my phone no longer enough to save the set date and time when it is turned off. I think that with the somewhat ailing battery is connected. The earlier work properly.
Conclusion
I am using the phone still very happy. The functions are quite sufficient for my needs. The quality is quite satisfactory. Of course, the built-in camera is a joke and not really worth mentioning, but there is still a mobile phone, so the camera is useless anyway. Even if the battery is now slowly but failed, 2 ½ years have ne long time and does not bother me the most.
In the near future I will separate myself but then a heavy heart from the good piece, I urgently for a trip to the USA need a quad-band phone, it will discard but not yet, but keep it as a replacement phone is always in the drawer. From me there is for full points and a recommendation.
