Nokia 1600 Reviews
It is well past that time where my mobile phone was “social class” object, a symbol of my opening to the technological world… No, actually, I never was a techno – addict, but when, before the friends it’s better to have the little extra that serves little… except frimer.

This is true, there is a little more a year and a half I was glad my acquisition of Sagem Myx-5-2, phone also doing camera, but it must be said, at the time I did not even digital camera… it is now made. And then I revenue, all these gadgets, since in the end we are left with an all-in-one whose “anything” is very moyenne in Nokia 1600 Reviews…
Anyways, to come to the heart of the matter (you are there to do that I guess?), my Sagem dropped me like that, overnight, or rather of a second to another… I did I but not mistreated it, step brought down by landnothing… He walked without worries and then Ottoman … nothing…
So, it took resign, he was definitely dead, I therefore went in boutique Orange to commit myself to type “mobile account” offer me to change the phone cheaply. The price of mobile phones in effect being a function of the package. Having up to now a Mobicarte account, I am therefore choose this formula, much more interesting for me.
I have therefore won the coconut for the modest sum of €9, and a commitment of one year to the M6 Mobile (no overflow) account for €24 per month for 45 minutes/month + calls unlimited numbers Orange evening and week end + sms/mms unlimited night and week end… An offer therefore very interesting for me. The subject of this opinion is not there, so I immediately talk of the star of this notice: Nokia 1600.
Nokia and me, it is an old story that began towards the end of the last century (that is to say 1999…). Ah! as memories… a time where the mobile phone operated many (even a little too I confess).
A mark that for me to proven with the 5110 model 3310… it was the way age of the laptop, with black and white screens intuitive writing that made its debut, polyphonic ringtones had not yet appeared, I played hours and hours to try to beat my record to the snake, and boiled shops for the façade which would match my handbag (well, I exaggerate a little bit…)
I had no fixed idea on the model that I wanted to acquire by entering in the shop. I merely indicated that I was looking for a simple telephone, to call and that’s it. The vendor first offered me a Samsung clamshell, but I don’t like this type of aircraft.
I then asked him if he had mark Nokia devices in which absolute confidence I, through my experiences (5110 and 3310)… This is that it propose 1600…
The 1600 is faithful to the mark came from the cold… 4 years later I found pleased to call, in any delightfully I point need to make pictures, even less video, nor that serve as me mp3 player (I also have what need me), I want to just receive and make calls and sms…His main asset is its ease of use.
General
A simple phone, small size (103 x 44 x 17), also sobre as class look.
It is all grey, but also exists in black.
The screen is good color – safe, and the polyphonic type.
First impression in his hand: it is a weight – pen (85 grams) in the affected velvety, the keys are ideally distributed…
The takeover is excellent, ergonomics is perfect.
The screen is well – safe quality 65,536 colors, display on multiple lines. Many settings of the phone to set the brightness and contrast. The visibility is not at the top in the Sun, as on all phones colors I could have (Sagem myx-5 and 5-2); the image quality is not clear that the latter was quality photo, but normal tell me you, 1600 takes photos. This small inconvenience, the readability of the screen is very good and offers a good confort.
Menu and functions
The conduct of the menu is identical to that of the Nokia I had previously: clear a disconcerting!
It is very simple, you can access the menu General by the key located at the top left, then simply scroll through the menu as the directional key: messages, contacts, call log, recall, games, settings, extras, services…
Unnecessary you detail all these menus below, it is enough speaking… and then a demo is available from the telephone to explain the use and the various functions.
There are still of pleasant surprises such as :
* the sous – menu “callback” which is in fact a kind of think beast, convenient to remember the little things to do in the day, but attention when, it is nor a calendar function, it’s just a think – beast…
* Nokia 1600 games : I am glad to find the “Snake Xenzia snake game. It is little, you tell me… but a small part to pass the time, it is nice. There are two other games available: a football “soccer league” (not able to play, sorry, soccer is not in my genes) and “rapid roll” a head case where you move a ball, very nice.
* Alarm: A function that I I use every morning, so very important for me. And, I am satisfied to find the many possibilities offered by Nokia (compared with Sagem): possibility of programmed alarm only certain days of the week (awakening sound more inadvertently on Sunday morning!!) and the possibility to repeat the alarm 5 minutes later by pressing a single key (which was impossible with Sagem)(, since I had squarely to reprogram the awakening, not obvious when you head in the pillow)
* Access direct to the modes “General”, “silent”, “strong” and “discreet”: from a direct touch, it is possible to set the phone sound configuration, and then to return normal, very easily.
* Customizing the phone: obviously, when talking about Nokia, we think necessarily interchangeable facades… The 1600 also allows to compose his own ringtones (view artists – authors – composers), pas evident, I grant you…
It can be customize ringtones (calls, messages, alarm, contact); the wallpapers (20 are original) but also under menus and screensavers… and to go even further: the spectrum of colors. Original function which allows to customize the phone with his mood. Then, rather green – prairie or emerald – green?
* For many essential functions are accessible by direct keyboard shortcut, for example: key directional top for calls in absence, affects directional left to write a message, low for the etc directory… the key located at the top right is customizable, therefore, create a shortcut to several function (for me, for example, it is a direct access to the alarm and the games.)
* The directory may contain 200 contacts (4 MB memory), ci can be customized: choice of an icon of a specific ringtone.
Illuminated Keyboard: ca is not used to anything, I you accorde… the keyboard glows at the rate of the ringtone, gadget to death, Yes, but it is really fun.
* Hands-free : a function very practical, I’ve not encountered on all phone models, but since then, this is may be généralisé….
450 Hours autonomy… I don’t know where currently the average autonomy of laptops today, but 450 hours seem quite sufficient for what I use, but it is a personal point of view.
I did the tour of the main functions as a strong point on this phone.
See therefore what is the small disappointment…
Polyphonic ringtones: I remember my experience with OT511 Alcatel polyphonic ringtones, ringtones were so poor that I almost missed my calls (even with the noise level at bottom). Good here it seems to get even better, but it is certain that from the Sagem myx 5-2 (which could even directly record music with the recorder), it is just a bit disappointing, but nothing serious! The quality is still good until now I’ve still missed no appeal, may be is – this due to the 20 tone – quality mp3 – dixit Nokia polyphonic quality!
Therefore, it is still possible that I change of opinion on polyphonic ringtones?
* Display 65,536 colours it is already not bad, but it is true that, once again, being accustomed to display “picture” of myx5-2 quality, it is a little “a back”, but good, nothing very nasty again, since visibility is very co
In conclusion
I didn’t expect to change so fast my Sagem myx5-2, I have great regret…
But I could comfort me with Nokia 1600…
He has but few assets to compete against his predecessor who played the “Hi tech”, and yet…
After he discovered mobile technology with a Philips Illium, then appreciated the comfort of call with the 5110 then 3310 I have bitterly regretted having swapped against an Alcatel 511; I thought having found my eldorado with the Sagem brand… and yet it is an unexpected “return to the sources of the mobile” that gives me Nokia with the 1600.
Its strengths are no doubt of its size, weight, and especially its ease of use, hence a “comfort telephone!”
1600 Encumbered not gadgets in all kind, he can simply call, send and receive SMS messages, and still offer many small more to facilitate me life, such as the alarm clock, games, think beast (beast not at all), converter, calculator, stopwatch, Countdown etc…
True to all phones of the mark, the menu is quite clear and clear, it is very simple to customize it and make various settings from silent (in meeting) mode to discrete or strong (in noisy places).
Its look is sober but very pleasant, and especially very comfortable with the layout of the keys, the hit “velvety” of the hull, the size, well suited…
The quality of listening is very good, really well, refers mainly to the Sagem yet, I was very satisfied.
I regret nothing my purchase, as it would cost me only €9 (with a package account M6 mobile, I recall).
It gives me just what I was expecting my mobile, with more good autonomy and full of small features that facilitate me life.
I advise all those who have no desire to take the head with a mobile phone, and those who remain refractory technology!
